ABSTRACT
The 'Crossrails' of Milan and Turin are the most important public infrastructure works built this century in Italian cities. The prospect of new infrastructure investments has led to an attempt to reorganise not only local and territorial mobility but above all to redefine land use and zoning and to transform the main central areas within the metropolitan core.
