ABSTRACT
The overall living standard in Korea has improved substantially over the last three decades as a result of unprecedented high rates of economic growth. Rapid increases in personal income and employment opportunities have changed economic and social structures. However, not all of Korea's economic problems have been solved by rapid growth alone.
