ABSTRACT
Relatively little has been written to date that deals directly with the background, methodologies and role of price reporting agencies (PRAs). Coverage of PRAs has tended to come in the context of trading manuals or in general discussions of energy prices. The Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES) also regularly covers issues around energy pricing and benchmarks in its quarterly Oxford Energy Forum publication, which is edited by Bassam Fattouh and Peter Stewart. Another interesting source is the Oil Voice website, which has hosted articles on PRA benchmarks authored by Consilience Energy Advisory Group Ltd (CEAG). This chapter presents a list of key documents issued either singly by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) or by IOSCO in partnership with the International Energy Forum (IEF), International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
