ABSTRACT
Sir Timothy Coghlan, Government Statistician of New South Wales, 1886–1905, not only made NSW for a time the country with the best national income statistics in the world, but also made major original contributions to national income accounting, especially the first parallel estimates of national income, output and expenditure. The article drew attention to his contributions.
