ABSTRACT

The model at least hints at productivity effects for all of the principal services. The effect for home care for users with critical interval needs is significant only at the 9 per cent level. The marginal productivity is also low, figure 9.1 shows, but increases with the level of home care provided. This may relate to the fact that the construction of a relationship on which to base socialisation is best served by the provision of large and continued inputs. In such cases, formal workers become the very agent of socialisation. The effect was observed over a wide range of the service, and applied to one quarter of users.
