ABSTRACT

The chapter considers the framework for the selection of indicators, the indicators themselves, and the modelling strategy.

1. Outputs, inputs and risk factors studied

1.1. Outputs

Literature from gerontology and related disciplines, the 'ologies', developed more precise dimensionalities of outputs, and indicators for them. Evaluation studies, including production of welfare evaluations, continuously synthesise and apply them. The ECCEP project attempted to create sufficient continuity with earlier production of welfare studies to permit some comparisons, and to extend cover and incorporate new indicators.
