ABSTRACT

I finally get to bring my diary up-to-date.. .1 am now sleeping again regularly. There is also a let-down, since the creative work is done. Still, I must write memos on monitoring the Plan.

March 5 ....[In Enugu] Met with Coatswith, the extremely able and nice PS Agriculture. He gave me a nearly two-hour lecture on how not to get depressed about not getting one’s way. I said I understood the vagaries of politics, but got depressed when fellow expatriates could not be relied on to carry out their part of the bargain, and about politicians when their policies were obviously self-defeating.
