ABSTRACT

The three mission students all have useful skills; one has designed a website or two in a few of his courses, another enjoys graphic design and the third is a part-time math and reading tutor. The mission students believe this is enough to build the website for their nonprofit, which is their initial and primary public relations (PR) and marketing tool. Nonprofits work from the heart, and spending and resources are often limited or spent in areas other than marketing or PR. Because they have a strong focus on their causes, nonprofits commonly function internally, meaning the board of directors and internal leadership work hard to fundraise and create programming to support and advocate for their cause. Using data in a nonprofit is essential to affect change, identify strategies and insure effective outreach to potential donors, current donors and funders to bring new clients and revenue. Nonprofits have many of the same goals and objectives as do for-profit corporations.
