ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the delivery of services by the five settings and considers whether or not that constitutes family support. Having recapped on the type of services being delivered by the settings, it considers them in the light of legislative expectations regarding family support. The process involved in service delivery is considered in order to address the first of the nine evaluation criteria relevant to this area. The next three criteria are used to allow the means by which the service is delivered to be evaluated. The remaining five evaluation criteria are used to explore the style of work adopted by the settings. The chapter ends with a discussion of what can be learnt from the settings about the form of service delivery appropriate to family support and suggests that it is here that the heart of family support can be found.
