ABSTRACT
The late Dr W. Edwards Deming, the famous quality control specialist, had a very individualistic approach to potential clients. He would explain to the CEO, president, managing director, or whoever was the head of the company, the many advantages of attending his quality control seminars. The CEO must demonstrate full commitment to implementing the concepts of the Integrated Company and should appreciate that their role is crucial, and central. Installing the concepts and systems that will lead to the Integrated Company is going to be great fun, but it is also going to be very frustrating, and will involve a lot of hard work, dedication and real commitment. Selecting a representative cross-section of people to respond to the questionnaires requires detailed consideration. Management focus explores the extent to which management can direct its efforts towards moving the company forward, and primarily addresses the flexibility, cohesiveness, and maturity of management.
