ABSTRACT

In embracing this agenda, Education Queensland started to ask a series of questions in 1999 about the future of education in Queensland and engaged the education and broader community in discussions that developed a policy for Queensland State Education for the next 10 years. Queensland State Education - 2010 consultations involved over 10,000 participants which included teachers, parents, students, principals, and community members at seven hundred meetings throughout the state. Members of the education community considered a series of fundamental questions including:

• What do we want state schools to look like in 2010? • What will teachers' work be like? • How will learning occur? • What support will state schools need from Education Queensland?
