ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the function and role of social service intervention in Hong Kong detention centres in relation to the process of ethnocide taking place in the detention centres. The main theme explored here is how ‘helping intervention’ influences the outcome of the social process that takes place within the detention centres. The main focus here is on the role of CFSI and other NGOs that offered social service assistance to the asylum seekers.
