ABSTRACT
In the world of project management, there are numerous professional societies and associations advocating project management. Many of these are global organizations with national or local chapters or affiliated organizations. The most recognized global associations focusing on project management as a general category are the Project Management Institute, the International Project Management Association, Green Project Management Global, and the Global Alliance for Projects Performance Standards. The most recognized associations focusing on particular topics of project management are the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineers International and the Society for the Advancement of Value Engineering International. In addition to professional associations, there are other initiatives or organizations worthy such as International Organization for Standardization and Projects IN Controlled Environments. Numerous other organizations offer significantly valuable resources for the domain of project management, from Japan to the United States and from the United Kingdom to India and Australia.
