ABSTRACT

Every project that will result in a product and that requires operations will need an Operational Readiness Stage. The focus of this stage is on all the work that the teams have to complete before the handover and provisional acceptance. The pre-handover activities could vary considerably from one project to another and one domain to another. The handover activities are those that the teams perform around the time of handover. These activities include verifying work packages and product completion and verifying scope and product completion through inspections, testing, and reviews. To perform the handover reviews, the project management team, operations team, and service provider team will work together. If it is necessary to perform these items to meet the handover requirements, the implementation team must finish the work and verify completion before the client can accept custody.
