ABSTRACT

A method or methodology is probably an essential element, along with the organizational system that is necessary for effective project management. The challenges are related to the published guides and, indirectly, to project performance in organizations following the guides without establishing their own organizational project management systems. Half of the processes in the guides are planning related. SUKAD has developed a four-dimensional model for measuring project success that considers technical success, project management success, project delivery success, and business objective success. Project classification is important, because one should treat small projects differently from large projects, and simple projects differently from complex projects. The sixth edition of the Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide clearly refers to the pre-project work as business documents that would be used as input to the project. The output is the project's end product, but outcome focuses on result and benefits realization.
