ABSTRACT
The issue of global warming has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years. It has been the subject of heated debates and has become an important policy issue in many countries. Indeed, a major item on the agenda of the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro was the global warming problem. More recently, another United Nations summit on global warming, attended by environment ministers, was held in Berlin in April 1995.
