ABSTRACT

Socratic method can change the ways that clients look at the world. While clients may have initially come in to address personal issues, they will inevitably leave with a purpose to serve others instead through a moral life, realizing that this is the best way to better their lives. It is irrefutable that human beings are social animals. In essence, we need others to thrive, and this has been proven time and time again. In turn, while life cannot be lived in a vacuum, we often treat the counseling process in such a way. Why focus so much on individual needs with a social animal? This is the primary challenge we present to counselors.
