ABSTRACT

The previous chapter dealt with the problems faced and lessons learned over many years with individual suppliers involved in many manufacturing or service endeavors. Most suppliers are honest and are willing to cooperate to address any problem that occurs. (This is said with tongue in cheek. It is true that if it does not increase their costs, create perceived hardships, or cause expensive revisions to their process, they will cooperate willingly.) But unless they are actively involved in all types of supplier improvement actions they will not achieve the status of having enhanced suppliers.
