ABSTRACT

In the previous chapter we discussed the need to review, select, and improve the suppliers that we utilize. These suppliers could be internal or external. They could range from “mom and pop” shops to giant industrial manufacturers or service suppliers. All types should be held accountable for improvement once a problem is recognized. To hold them responsible it is first necessary to establish a selection or evaluation process to ensure full agreement that important provider criteria are fulfilled. Then it is necessary to ensure that a corrective follow-up action is established.
