ABSTRACT

The previous chapter stressed that accurate record keeping is essential when gauging supplier performance and readiness. The records generated will aid in creating a firm basis for understanding current problems and may indicate potential actions for problems experienced in the future. Accurate statements of the problem, descriptions of the failure mode, date code use and interpretation, process flow plans, and the necessity of having product containment plans are obligatory considerations. Process and supplier improvements are created by rectifying adverse conditions and addressing them in the design, the process, and the process control plan.
