ABSTRACT
This chapter presents some recent advancements and then utilize theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) tools to help the visualization of the next step of the advancement of those, and similar, systems. It is important to remember that the creation of solid innovations requires a bit of discipline and understanding of how the TRIZ tools work together. Today, there are many home appliances with much more advanced information and control systems than their predecessors thanks to the pattern of transition to the macrosystems describing the merger of home appliances and microelectronics. There are many cases throughout history that demonstrate an application of a TRIZ pattern or principle. Some TRIZ tools and methods can be applied "on the fly". It is fairly straightforward to look at a system advancement and think which pattern or principle is at work.
