ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the application of the tenets of cooperative inquiry to the Paxherbal organization and its offshoot, Africa Centre for Integral Research and Development (ACIRD). ACIRD, in collaboration with local and international partners, seeks to set new templates for integral research-to-innovation, individually and collectively, to counteract the danger of ivory-tower institutions in Nigeria and Africa. The goal of ACIRD is to continue to explore ways in which research can transform Africa. ACIRD is passionate about research, both processally and substantively, that leads to social, if not also technological, innovation in Africa – thereby addressing Africa's calling to ultimately contribute its unique gifts to the world. ACIRD's research ecosystem also includes Centre for Integral Socio-Economic Research (CISER), co-founded by Dr Basheer Oshodi. CISER members comprise mostly bankers who are interested in evolving new perspectives on investment banking in Nigeria and how the banking system in Nigeria can be a genuine player in sustainable development in Nigeria.
