Information transfer software from finite difference grid to finite element mesh

In many cases, pore pressure analyses were performed using the finite difference (FD) method, and three-dimensional (3D) geomechanics were analyzed using the finite element (FE) method. To perform a coupled analysis for porous flow and matrix deformation (such as subsidence calculation), it is necessary to transfer data between the FD grid and FE mesh. This chapter introduces a method for developing a data-transfer platform.
