ABSTRACT
In the fast moving fashion world, a lot of chemicals are involved to produce clothes of varying technological and aesthetic features. Some chemicals by its intrinsic property are harmful in nature while others produce suspected effect to create a cause of concern. One can appreciate a well established and proven fact that hazardous chemicals can harm the global environment as well as the health of customers, employees and workers throughout the value chain. It is, therefore, important to adhere to a holistic approach so that apparel products are safe and sustainable and to emphasis on the elimination of harmful chemical discharges to water, soil and air throughout the life cycle of all of the products.
