ABSTRACT

The topic of children and death has long produced more questions than answers. What do children know? When and how will they learn it? What should children know? What is the impact of this knowledge on the lives of children? These questions have been openly discussed and, at times, heatedly debated for at least three decades. These discussions/debates have taken place primarily in the United States, Canada, and Europe, but the points they raised have been examined in countries and cultures throughout the world.
