ABSTRACT

Theliteratureofcontentmanagementcurrentlyfocusesalmostentirelyonpracticalities:howcontentmanagementtechnologyfunctions,howtoimplementit, whyorganizationsshouldorshouldnotinvestinit(Boiko,2002;Hackos,2002; Houser,2003;Johnsen,2001;Rockley,2001,2003a,2003b).Proponentsof contentmanagementsystems(CMS)haveassertedthatthemethodologyhelps organizationstodeliverinformationingreatervolume,tomorereaders,andin moreformsthaneverbefore.Moreover,proponentscontend,CMSimprove theconsistencyandtimelinessofinformationacrossdocumentsuitesandhelp organizationstocoordinatecontentandphysicaldesign-allofwhichare featuressaidtobenefitreaders(Boiko,2002;Hackos,2002;Rockley,2003a).
