ABSTRACT
A Mineral/Coal Processing plant costs thousands of dollars to build and operate. The success of the plant relies on the assays of a few small samples. Representing large ore bodies truly and accurately by a small sample that can be handled in a laboratory is a difficult task. The difficulties arise chiefly in collecting such small samples from the bulk of the material.
