ABSTRACT
The contents of this chapter and Chapter 4 are basically methodological. They show how to make standard calculations of agricultural production outputs and the inputs used in such a production. This information is required to calculate the energy return on investments (EROIs). However, before showing how inputs and outputs are calculated, it is necessary to accurately dene the scale of the analysis, carefully set the boundaries of the study and, nally, select and collect data from the most suitable information sources.
