ABSTRACT

In the process of dredging, dense silt, “iron sands” and other such soils are often encountered, which are difficult to cut and raked, mainly because of the obvious dilation characteristic. In the process of cutting, a certain dilatancy zone takes shape in the interior of soil, where the pore pressure is negative, so that the soil effective stress and the shear strength increase significantly (Miedema, 2010; Zhao, 2001).
