ABSTRACT

According to the most recent studies, the average age at which a boy first looks at porn is, in the United States, eleven years.1 Kids are exposed to porn and media online, or they hear a whole lot about what is available from friends who have had free access to the Internet from a young age. This is why it is key to start the conversations when they are young, or as soon as possible. Parents who delay these conversations in an effort to “protect the innocence” of their children have good intentions, but they are unintentionally leaving their children vulnerable to having information gaps filled by misguided peers and the Internet.
