ABSTRACT
ONTHEOTHERHANDonly virtuous action receives as its due the reward of blessedness. But according to Matthew martyrdom receives this reward, Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sʼ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. So martyrdom is a virtuous act.
