ABSTRACT
The concept of the conscience is situated at the heart of Kierkegaard’s thinking. It is a correlational notion that holds together two realities-the divine and the human. We can probe Kierkegaard’s understanding of conscience by considering (1) God and the single individual, (2) eternity and temporality, and (3) the anguished conscience and the atonement.
