The Danish dobbelt is derived from the German doppelt, compare French and English double, derived from the Latin duplus. The lexical meaning in Danish refers to increase by a large number of quantity, size, amount, weight, and the like, namely, twice as large. Reflection is derived from Latin reflexio. The lexical meaning in Danish refers to backscattered light from shiny surfaces, to glare and sound.1
