ABSTRACT

One of the most distinctive and, at the same time, encouraging features of the philosophy of our time is the rehabilitation of metaphysics as a legitimate branch of philosophic enquiry. This revival has been made possible through the works of a number of leading philosophers of our time, philosophers who could shake off the strangle-hold of the anti-metaphysical rhetoric that succeeded in nearly completely inhibiting all metaphysical impulses in lesser philosophers. One of these leading philosophers of our time is Sir Peter Frederick Strawson.
