ABSTRACT

CHAPTER 7 Risk Identification Risk identification is a fundamental step in the risk management process; risks that are not identified will not be managed. No matter how effective other aspects of the risk management process are, failure to identify risks undermines the process as a whole. Given this, it is tempting to leave no stone unturned by identifying as many risks as possible. However, this can be a mistake. The art of risk identification lies in identifying the right risks at a level suitable for risk analysis.
