ABSTRACT

This perspective concerns the extent to which risk management is integrated with the overall project management process. It embraces two activities that are part of the core risk management process shown in Chapter 2, Figure 2.4 and on the right hand side of Figure 2.5 (see pp. 25 and 27):

Initiating the process, and Managing the process

Together these activities should ensure that the process is tailored to the purposes of the project, implemented as intended and evolved as and when appropriate. Failure to do these things would prevent the process from being effective.
