ABSTRACT
The increasing public interest in nature and landscapes is today considered a major positive factor in the process of conservation and wise use of ecologically sensitive and important areas. These areas may be defined as large or small sites with a very high biodiversity, providing habitats for threatened, or endangered or endemic species of fauna and flora, and maintaining a unique beauty as landscapes, the most important of which are legally protected under international agreements or conventions and/or national legislation.
