The coaching element of the safety contact is all about the ‘inspirational’ leadership behaviours we discussed at the start of the book. Certainly it’s often said that the worst way to get a person to do something is to tell them to do it. This seems true of the typical western worker; we are a contrary and complicated lot are we not?
