ABSTRACT

Creating and sustaining best practice in the forward logistics flow is a hard enough challenge for most companies. It’s no surprise, then, that so few are inclined to embrace wholeheartedly the reverse logistics chal lenge. But the proliferation of used products, aggressive new environ mental legislation and a drive for maximum utilization and efficiency are forcing companies to tackle this relatively new supply chain area. Companies can move ahead of their competitors by thinking through the opportunities and implications of this new era, including the prospect of managing a life-long product responsibility.
