ABSTRACT

Co-operation between China and Poland in the liner trades has been going on since the early 1950s and represents a unique collaboration in shipping that started soon after the Communist regime in Poland came to power. This paper traces the early developments of the collaboration and then goes on to look at the current state of play in the market and the focus of the Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Company 'Chipolbrok', following the economically difficult period of transition in Poland since 1989.
