ABSTRACT
It may be helpful at this stage to provide an overview of the structure of Italian sentencing. This will help the reader to understand the significance of the relationship between the sentencing rules ~nacted by the criminal code and the sentencing rules enacted by the code of criminal procedure: in other words, between sentencing and sentence bargaining.
