ABSTRACT
The SIA exists to manage the licensing of the private security industry as provided for in the Private Security Industry Act 2001. It also aims to raise standards of professionalism and skills within the private security industry and to promote and spread best practice. The SIA is the only authority in England and Wales dealing with these private security issues and it reports directly to the Home Secretary.
