ABSTRACT

The conceptualization of what is changing will differ depending on the approach to dynamic modeling. Dynamic modeling can be based on discrete states or events, which will be covered in this chapter, or on functions which will be covered in the next chapter. Some texts emphasizing state-event modeling in general (e.g. Law & Kelton, 1991), while other texts such as Schriber (1974) and Russell (1983) cover specific modeling languages for this approach.
