ABSTRACT
How can we as members of the human race live at peace in a world with 600 or more known viruses, many of which spell suffering and death to persons among us? Viruses look like predators and we their prey. Though tiny (we need an electron microscope to see them) viruses seem like monsters on the prowl, threatening to devour and destroy us. Fiercely they infect us, cause disease, fill our bodies with pain, and with merciless apathy leave us to suffer and, in some cases, to die.
