ABSTRACT

Do all aspirations to mobility find fertile ground for their realisation? Having explored the links between the intensity and the diversity of forms of mobility and the convergence between motility and mobility in Chapter 4, followed by the motivations underlying the transformation of motility into mobility in Chapter 5,1 will now concentrate on inequalities in motility and mobility. The controversies raised in Chapter 2 concerning fluidification show how central this question is: to what extent are inequalities in mobility linked to the territory in question and to what extent are they a reflection of access to transport networks? Are these inequalities linked to projects that the actors have? Can they be linked to cultural models?
