ABSTRACT
Only a few Asian women have articulated their theology through writing. This written theology among Asian women was begun only during the last decade. Most Asian women who write and publish theologies in Asia today have had some kind of traditional theological training, are of middle-class background, and have been exposed to Western feminist theologies. Many Asian women theologians write their theology in English. These middle-class, educated, and English-speaking women talk about Asian women's pain – poverty, physical and psychological battering, prostitution, and so on. These middle-class, educated Asian women theologians are learning how to work with poor women and how to be transformed by the wisdom of the poor through the process of doing theology. Asian women theologians know that this process of metanoiato poor women is the only way to regain their wholeness.
