ABSTRACT

Originally, a records inventory was done in order to identify all record series and the extent of their use, for the purpose of devising retention/disposal schedules. Records series are groups of records arranged in accordance with a filing system or maintained as a unit because they relate to a particular subject or function, result from the same activity, have a particular form, or because of some other relationship arising out of their creation, receipt, or use. The inventory was also focused on the systems used for maintaining and filing active records, and on gaining the information necessary for the establishment of forms and reports management programs.
