ABSTRACT

Professor Paul Chandler is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Education, University of Wollongong, and was formerly the Head of School of Education at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. During his career, Paul has attracted more than AUD$2.3 million in research funding and has published more than 30 refereed articles in high-impact international journals. He is regarded as an international expert in cognition and learning. He received his PhD from the University of New South Wales and from this thesis received numerous awards and grants, was invited to deliver keynote addresses in Europe and the USA, and published the findings in three high-impact international journals. Paul has received numerous national and international research awards. In 1992, he became the first education academic to receive an Australian Research Council (ARC) postdoctoral research fellowship. He is currently the most cited educational researcher appointed at any Australian university. In 2008, at a National Press Club event, Professor Chandler was recognised as one of Australia’s ten most pre-eminent researchers.
