ABSTRACT
Health, safety and environment issues are of the utmost and ever-increasing importance. As a Project Sponsor whatever pride you expect to take in nurturing and delivering your project will be completely shattered if someone is killed or seriously injured in the process, or if the environment is damaged. The nature of projects is that they are different to the normal operations of the organization; they bring people together who haven’t worked together before, in unfamiliar locations. Consequently projects do involve a degree of risk. This risk varies according to the type, the size and the complexity of the project.
