ABSTRACT
Navigational ideas are useful in crime investigation. This is particularly so in those examples (‘multiple’ or ‘series’ crimes) where several offences are suspected as having been committed by the same criminal. Such a series is exemplified by the Yorkshire Ripper series of attacks.
